Effective March 1, 2017 any CEUs that are approved by ASWB (Association of Social Work Boards) or NASW (National Association of Social Workers) National Office or Nevada Chapter will automatically be approved by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers. You will no longer need to submit an approval for these trainings.
NASW Nevada is pleased to announce that we recently launched a new online continuing education resource for Nevada social workers, the NASW Professional Education and Training Center (PETC). http://www.socialworkers.org/naswproed/default.asp This convenient method for obtaining your up to 50% of your Nevada continuing education units became possible last March when the Board of Examiners for Social Workers decided to accept all CEU courses approved by the NASW National Office.
Available at your convenience 24 hours a day, the PETC offers NASW courses in a variety of formats—webinars, webcasts, podcasts, presentations, etc. Courses will continue to be added to the Center’s initial offerings to cover numerous practice areas. The site is sortable and searchable to help you find the training programs that best meet your professional development needs.
NASW’s new Center is an excellent continuing education resource. All courses offered are NASW accredited and members receive discounted prices, some courses are even free to members, on CEUs. Go to http://socialworkers.org/naswproed/default.asp to access the Center’s start up course catalog.
